Homemade Corn Tortillas

Ingredients

Maseca corn flour
Maseca, corn flour

Directions

Dough

  1. Mix masa and salt, stir in water.
  2. Mix together, should form spongy playdough consistency, not too dry or wet. I add the water slowly and don't always use it all
  3. Let sit for 10 minutes.

Flatten

  1. Ball out dough using ice cream scoop, golf ball size.
  2. Place dough ball inside cut ziploc bag.
  3. Flatten, I use two cutting boards, and I prefer not too thin.

Cook

  1. Heat cast iron, skillet or flat grill on high/med-high.
  2. Cook tortillas 1-2 minute per side.
  3. Stack together and cover with towel.

Serve

  1. Serve warm.
  2. Take from bottom of stack first, softens a little with steam.
